As a UK resident, it has always bemused people that I generally only fly Qantas when flying to ANZ, and keep a Gold membership with QFF.

When I heard of the demise of the BA/QF partnership, I see the plus points, but I for one, would much rather fly through Singapore.

I have just heard that my sister-in-law, husband and my little nephew are moving out there for work, to join the other 30 in-law relatives I have there, it prioritises Singapore for me.

I know that I could still book a QF coded flight, but take BA through to Singapore (not a bad proposition), but I am wondering if I could re-consider my whole flying. Sadly SQ is normally just too expensive for Business.

I have over 3,000 status credits, so in a couple of years would be lifetime Silver, but in reality, I am not that bothered.

Has anyone considered leaving QFF for another airline / program, and done it?
