Welcome to FT. You mention that you rarely fly OZ anymore - is most of your flying on UA metal now? If so, switching and being a UA Gold rather than a *A Gold will have some benefits when traveling on United - primarily access to E+ seating at time of booking and the chance for complimentary upgrades on domestic and some regional intra-asia flights. I don't know of United status matching within the *A so you might have to tough it out as a *G for the first 50k until you reach UA gold status.

If not, is there anyway to put a FFP number for accumulation, and another FFP number for status crediting?
If you use your United MP number on your reservation and you don't have status with United, your boarding pass will reflect that lack of status. You will still be able to use your OZ Gold card for access to the lounges. Note that, if you are flying United, you could always use your OZ membership number so the status shows and then, once inside the lounge, ask one of the agents to switch the number to your UA number prior to the flight.

Hope this helps.
