Just recently redeemed balance of my Airmiles for 1 ticket to HNL and vowed to almost ignore that program in the future and concentrate on 2-3 airline FF programs. It took 3900 miles for that HNL ticket and almost 5 years of so-so collecting.

When I first started playing the points/miles game was all over the map and not making good decisions, but thanks to FT have learned lots. I've refocused my goals to bigger overseas J class trips every 2 years. But your reason may be totally different, like a bank of miles to travel solely domestics. Any advice I can pass along would be to consolidate and concentrate earnings into only 1-2 FF programs.
