A favorite tool for searching good fares is matrix.itasoftware.com (usually referred to as ITA).

I didn't spend much time with it, as you didn't say where in Europe or when. But I found a 1176 CAD April 30 - YEG-MSP-LHR and return. Air France and Delta.

Kayak doesn't let one tinker so much, but it is an easy broad brush search tool.

If you've spent some time researching and think you've found the best deal possible, you can post results back here. Somebody feeling competitive (or helpful) may well show you a better deal.
