+1 - Paying the fees will far exceed any benefit. OP is stuck with what he has and should just stick to one or the other program going forward.
The only thing I would add applies if your US account has nearly enough miles for an award - no sense in throwing away 23K miles when another trip or two credited to US would be worth a "free" ticket.
