I was flying PVG-HKG-DXB in January. At that time I was still AA EXP.

On the very empty PVGHKG they moved a bunch of people, I assume all elites of some sort, to be seated ion the business class cabin.
The 2 people who were originally seated in C were moved to the F section on this KA flight.

On the flight to DXB I was booked in Y+. While in the Pier I asked the agent there if the seat next to me was still available, or if she could move me to one without neighbour. She looked at my BP and the screen, printed a new boarding pass and told me that I have been upgraded to C as the flight is very full.

I don't know if this means there were no CXX Elites on this flight in Y+, or I just got lucky, it was a nice flight.
