I have never been asked to pay for a second, third or fourth (I think the latter was probably the max) or a sandwich. I'm rarely in Y so my sample size is small. I always have my card ready (sometimes visible) for subsequent purchases but have never been asked. Crews have always seemed to remember that I was an EXP. That said, the benefit is one drink and one sandwich and I have no complaints if I don't get more than that. But not giving the 375ml bottles on a transcon is a little tacky - especially if it is truly better wine.
