I also know of other connections, via London (BA and Qantas), Paris (Luxair, AF and Qantas), Frankfurt or München (Luxair, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines) etc. but KLM just had a good offer.
Then I started loooking how their business class product rates and I found the reading a bit depressing, generally staff Ok, hardware stuck somewhere in the past (they even have vintage stuff in their inventory). Last time I used KLM was in 1977 (New York Amsterdam) so I have no experience with them, therefore I read these reviews. When I do this, I usually dismiss the best ones and the worst ones, but the inbetween stuff is not super, especially the seats seem to be dreadfull. .
True, the old slippery slope seats are pretty poor

Somewhat better is the NEV seat, which are on the 77W, 333, and one 332.
BTW, for what's worth it, if you book via Abu Dhabi on Etihad you'll get excellent seats on the second and by far longest leg, and it's KL codeshare all the way including miles etc...
Anyway, I realize we're both off-topic
