Thankfully some common sense prevailed and they ignored the warning on the system.... but I guess it could have bene abused.
Gatwick North is a different thing altogether. I would wager both lounges are on the same system there especially since the down-sizing. They want to know where the primary passenger is if they need to find them, and in LGW the lounges are both in one place. I am pretty sure you can do this at T5. But yeah my impression is it's skirting if not flouting the rules.

But after all it's an airline lounge not Heaven discothèque. The scanners are not meant to stop us from bringing-in guests.
