I've booked a handful of tickets as a cheaper UA fare and been upgraded on US metal. Hopefully this hasn't changed. Would there be any difference in booking directly through UA or through Orbitz?
It doesnt matter who tickets the reservation. it all depends on if the US flight shows up on the ticket as a codeshare or an actual US flight.
