I'd just fly on your existing ticket and get to the airport a bit early. I don't think you'll have any problem. Have the ticket agent at the airport note the name issue. I've had names reversed on the ticket before. If it's going to be a problem, the ticket agent can reissue a ticket on the spot.
Personally if it was just me I would just fly the ticket. But with family or a companion that could be a massive inconvenience to others if things go pear shaped.
But having that said, I've flown with Last Name and First name swapped on QR, no problems at all.
If anything, I wanna see what happens if I put my last name as my middle name just to test it out.
