For whats worth it, I do find UltrRant's experiences quite shocking. But for me KL staff usually does a good job. Them being grumpy or unfriendly is rare from my experience, and what UltrRant describes there sounds quite extreme.
I'm happy to read the adventure of Pandora. Of course, not all is bad (if it would be just bad all the time they would have been bankrupt a long time ago and I wouldn't have made it there as FBG in the first place). It's just that when things go wrong of different, KL seems to be the second in line (behind FR) to screw things up badly. The earlier experiences I talked about were for example delayed luggage (they forgot to offload it...) when traveling to the Dutch Antilles for holiday purposes. My luggage didn't arrive, but KL didn't have any facilities ready at the airport (fortunately they did when my luggage didn't make it to AMS at some earlier flights. It may be a local thing) to make up for the absence or have any agreements with ground handing there to deliver my luggage at my vacation address. I just had to go to the airport again to find out if they had it already. This cost me 2 days of vacation. KL only got me 10 euros or so in the end for a toothbrush and toothpaste, the rest was for my own expense. For comparison: even a lcc like DY brings your luggage to you as soon as it arrives at the airport. I now also have an impressive collection of those black *A toiletries maps at home. I got one almost every time they lost my luggage. Also experiencing 5 hours waiting in line at the transfer desk between pier B and C (next to the food court and the chocolate shop) due to lack of KL ground personnel doesn't help. Since these three incidents happened quite soon after each other, I reconsidered my loyalty and I don't regret that I did. The story in my first post is the most extreme I have experienced so far in aviation (I assume 1000+ flight legs by now, varying from FR to LH-F) and I hope it stays that way. And as said, I found KL personnel usually quite unfriendly, although those on board the flight from OSL-AMS really seemed to have a bad day. When I get in as FBG and flying business class, I don't expect to be treated as cattle. They don't have to be my slaves either, but just normal and correct behavior would be nice and appreciated. As written, I learned from some people I know in Holland that this has to do with the work ethics: KL ground and cabin crew really seems to believe that being adequate is the same as commanding your passengers around like a field marshal. Pax are there for the system, not the other way around. I mean, this Flynt is great and social check in awesome, but I'd rather see they focus on the basics: getting pax from A(MS) to B in a somehow comfortable matter and having measures in place when things go wrong.

Anyway, as said, I think that Schiphol is one of the best main airports in Europe, maybe even the nicest one. I usually really enjoy my waiting time there, since there's enough to see and do, it's clean and efficient. It just would deserve a better airline to serve it as its main hub.
