It seems like there is a Grovenor House mafia here. Beach properties are overthetop expensive in Dubai and frankly the beaches are not very interesting. For me Jumeirah is not particularly interesting period.

If I am staying with my wife I prefer Four Points Sheik Zayed as is of good quality, not overly expensive and is central to visit Bur Dubai, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, and there are lots of taxis to go to Wild Wadi, Mall of Emirates and such like. The rail link is a very short walk away.

If I am staying by myself I prefer Bur Dubai or Deira, more things of interest locally, cheaper but good quality accommodations.

Out of the two choices I would go Mall of Emirates but if you can look further afield go closer to the Creek not the beach.
