Would you go to Xi'An or Guilin with Kids?
Hi Flyertalkers,
I'm currently in the throes of planning a trip to Asia in August-- as part of the trip, I'll be in China for a week with my wife and two kids (ages 5 and 8). We'll be flying in and out of Beijing, and are planning one in-country trip elsewhere (so we'll probably have ~5 days in Beijing and 2 days in another location). Originally I was thinking Xi'an, as many tourbooks/websites state that the Terra Cotta Warriors are "the" must-see in China, but as I did my research, I started wondering if Guilin/Yanghuo would be more fun for the kids, and a more interesting glimpse of the country when paired with Beijing. My wife has vetoed trying to do hit both locations (my usual approach to travelling), so we need to pick one or the other. This is our first trip to China, and we probably won't be back any time soon, if at all. For those of you who have been to one or both, which would you choose?
