sunset over the lake

Inle Resort was pretty nice. I had my own bungalow over the water. The food was good but pricey.

The next day we stopped at one of the markets despite my protests that I don’t really like markets.

tourist boats jam the parking lot at the market

After the market we visited a special monastery where they keep more sacred Buddha images that have been turned into gold blobs by having so much gold leaf applied. They Buddhas go on parade to the villages for special religious occasions on their own enormous barge shaped like a duck

Inside the “jumping cat temple” where the monks taught cats to jump through hoops.

After the cats we stopped at a little village to walk around some. I had indicated how much I like butterflies and my guide thought this would be a good place to see some.
