Seat Selection Strategies (with kid(s))
Not sure if this has come up, but I was wondering which seats people like to choose when traveling with kids depending on the layout of the cabin and length of trip, perhaps? I am rather thinking of Y and maximizing your comfort, especially when you know the flight is relatively full but not 100%. This can also apply to parties without kids, really.
For example, if I am on a 2-4-2, me alone with a child, I will take the "2" for us.
On a 3-3 or 3-3-3, I would normally take window and middle (no child-stranger contact), but maybe taking the middle 3 on 3-3-3 is a better strategy hoping for an empty seat in the row.
On a 2-3-2, I would normally take the 2, but again, maybe better to take the 3 and hope for an empty seat.
There is of course many permutations of this once you go beyond 1 parent + 1 child. On 2-3-2 with 2 parents + 1 child, we'd usually go 2+aisle and not middle 3, as one parent gets to be relatively free that way.
