I must agree with this, sometimes I see a person who looks to be some kind of manager but I haven't a clue how the hierarchy works.
When I need or want something I push the button and someone will ask me what I want. So far, this has never failed. I assume the crew escalates my question to a manager if needed.
With that said, it makes no sense at all to rename the Purser title as it's mostly used by crew to identify a role. I'm sure that it takes some work and dedication to acheive the title. Also, I like the ship references, it's heritage.
