CSL is just another abbreviation in a long list of office based ingenuity changes that serve to merely distance BA from it's heritage, despite using this heritage recently as a selling point. I thought they wanted to inject a bit of old skool glamour back into the customer experience?
I am sad to see the Purser title is going. Why does everything have to be tampered with by those that think they know best!? It's always done by people that have likely never worked in the role themselves.
I wouldn't be surprised if the term Cabin Crew was in line for being replaced by something like Customer Service Cabin Environment Operative!!

Good points, it is definitely a shame that this long established term is disappearing and it interesting that you have a similar perspective on the matter BA.MF.CSM.
I think it is getting harder and harder for passengers to clearly understand what all these similar name terms mean on board our aircraft. Really the only thing they now can go by is the silver tie but that does not help them if they are in ET and looking for someone in charge of that cabin.
Anyway, we just seem to be going through a never ending level of change and although we do need to manage out a small percentage of under performing staff, I am not convinced that all this uncertainty and change will actually help that process. They have been performance managing CSDs for many years but not one under performing CSD has left, so this will, I fear, just be a change for changes sake.
