Overall, redeyes are popular with travelers. AA operates four daily redeyes between the Miami area and LAX alone.

I did LAS-ABQ a few times when HP ran their "midnight bank". 1:30 AM Pacific to 4:00 AM Mountain or something like that. Flights were pretty full though.
I actually like redeyes myself, good ways to avoid paying for a hotel. I sleep decently on a plane, not great, but it works, even on shorter ones like SFO-DFW (which I've done at least twice). I've probably done the LAX-BOS redeye 4-5 times (1 on VX and the rest on AA).
