Hi Hiddy,

We are off to Argentina in late Sept (and then off to Panama in January). All thanks to IB's low fees!

Where we are, we have a choice of Glasgow or (slightly further) Edinburgh, or even Prestwick.

We tend to fly from Edinburgh now because of availability (and I like the public "lounger" seats where you can watch the aircraft) and on the outbound there is a good connection from LCY:

Flight number BA8715
From Edinburgh
To City Airport (London)
Depart Dec 2013 10:45
Arrive Dec 2013 12:05
Cabin Domestic
Operated by BA CITYFLYER
Booking status Confirmed

Flight number BA8753
From City Airport (London)
To Madrid Terminal 4S
Depart Dec 2013 12:35
Arrive Dec 2013 16:00
Cabin Euro Traveller
Operated by BA CITYFLYER
Booking status Confirmed

Via Heathrow, there is a flight we use that leaves a little earlier (I hate early mornings too!)

Flight number BA1441
From EDINBURGH - AIRPORT
To LONDON - HEATHROW Terminal 5
Depart 2013 10:10
Arrive Apr 2013 11:35
Cabin UK DOMESTIC
Operated by BRITISH AIRWAYS
Booking status Confirmed

Flight number BA516
From LONDON - HEATHROW Terminal 5
To MADRID - BARAJAS Terminal 4
Depart Apr 2013 15:00
Arrive Apr 2013 18:35
Cabin
Operated by IBERIA
Booking status Confirmed

But it has a longer connection time in London.

My wife is Spanish and we always plan a night in Madrid anyway, so not too worried about missed connection. And the EDI-MAD is a RFS to save the UK APD

For the return, we fly Easyjet direct MAD - EDI since it leaves at 4pm and gets in at 18:10. With the BA LCY we would get in to LCY at 18:20-ish and then have to wait hours for the connection. With BA LHR, it is not much different.

Anyway, may pm you in a while about some tips for our trip.
