If premium economy was the A380 J seat I would go for it. I don't need lounge access, the chaffeur drive, bonus miles, faster check in, premium wines, fancy food and cutlery, the bar, pre-flight drinks, the better amenity kit.

I can buy a Y return ticket SYD to BKK for ~$1,000 and a J return for ~$4,000. I would pay double my Y price ($2,000) for a no frills J seat. The seat has to be flat though.
