If it consoles you any, my husband had US Air put his first name also into the slot for his middle name, as in John John Smith, and I cannot for the life of me get it out. Done all the required docs, etc and still it persists. So depressing to hear Customer Service tell you about all the authority they do not have. I was hoping that UA was better but apparently not.
