Electricity out for 12 hours: Appropriate compensation or adjustment?

So I had a recent stay where the electricity in the room (but not the rest of the hotel/elevator/lobby) went out for 12 hours on one of the days. Would rather not name the property at this time. Room was hot and electricity went out.

Since one of the "basic" amenities (electricity) was not rendered during part of the stay, what would be a reasonable compensation to ask and receive? 100% of the night? 50% of the night?

Thx
