Damn - was in Debenhams a week or so back and bought 2 shirts. I even thought about holding off on the purchase as I wondered in Debenhams would join the Foursquare cashbackfest.

The real tightwad in me says take them back for a refund as they are still in the bag - but can't be ar**d to do that.

Looks like I will be long of more vouchers by next weekend !

Interesting point people are making about spending what you wouldn't necessarily spend. I am taking advantage of the Shell promo, but just putting £50 of petrol on each card rather than filling up. The local one does branded gift cards, but I thought most were not for places I shop (and the discount not big enough to make it worthwhile) so I am content on getting a 30% discount on my petrol.

As for people taking advantage of it, I sometimes think we live in a bit of a bubble - in the nicest possible way. I mention forums etc to friends and colleagues and they think I'm a lunatic. Then I mention that I don't fly at the back of the bus (and even got a First Classs 2:4:1), had an Avios printing machine with my Lloyds card last year, and now getting free cash in shops that I do spend money in and they suddenly see me as a smart cookie (well, not quite). BUT we are a very small part of a much larger population - as someone mentioned, how many people really have more than 1 Amex. Until I read these forums I would have thought people were mental to have multiple cards, especially if there was a fee involved. Now? I am just awaiting the delivery of my new Amex Platinum
