I've read some older threads, but I'm hoping to get some more recent experiences in regards to packing alcohol for a flight. I've read all the rules on the WN website. I have boxes, bubble wrap and plastic bags (not sure if they are exactly leak proof). Basically, I just want to wrap it up myself, the more I spend on materials, the less point there is in me taking it. (It's nothing too expensive, just a convenience issue). Even the $5 bag from WN might make it pointless.
With all that said, can anyone share their experience with how your alcohol was packaged and if it was in your bag when you arrived?

Weight is your enemy when traveling with checked luggage.
A bottle of booze is heavy and, to me, not worth packing.
That said, I have transported bottles of liquor rolled up in clothing, with no problem.
And, I once transported a few small boxes of wine from Paris to LAX, only to find that one had been punctured en route and soaked my clothes in red.
