Are you saying that you are transferring over individual credits and the expiration date of individual credits is being extended? If so, that is something different and new/glitch in the system.
The transfer two-step can be done any time prior to SA expiration.
The key to it is doing on the exact day the credit(s) would expire. I thought that was what others had mentioned about extending them but never really paid attention at first. Then the day of the first set to expire I moved them all on that day and the date stayed the same on the ones without the current day expiration. Then I had to "move" the others again each day of their expiry and the year on those then moved to 2014 as well.
