Hi there! I'll answer your questions one at a time
The bus transit option is airside only and there's no opportunity to pop outside and smoke. If you want a quick cigarette you can clear landside and transfer to Terminal 1 by Heathrow Express train (free) or London Underground (free with Oyster card). There are smoking areas outside both terminals. This shouldn't take much longer as you'd need to re-clear security at T1 anyway.
Opinions are mixed on the new seat. It does recline fully flat like normal club world but is a significantly different design. Here's a picture.
You can use the lounge on your way back to MAN from T5. Keep hold of your BEY-LHR boarding card and show it at the lounge entrance. Not all lounge agents are aware of this procedure so get them to have a look in the manual if need-be
