Just wondering though, if booked as a code share but on TG metal I'd suspect that the massage would be forthcoming. Does anyone have experience with this either way?
You are all correct, it is not a codeshare. An interesting thing happened...
The original flights (for this portion of the trip) were BKK-(TG)-HKG-(OZ)-ICN, when the direct BKK-ICN opened up I called UA to change my itinerary to the OZ flight using the OZ flight number that came up when I was doing my availability search using the ANA tool. After making the change I received my revised confirmation email which read as follows:
Mon, 15APR13
OZ7423
I
BANGKOK, THAILAND
(BKK) 2:00 AM
SEOUL, REPUBLIC OF SOUTH KOREA
(ICN - INCHEON) 9:15 AM
737-400
Flight operated by THAI AIRWAYS.
I thought it was odd that it said flight was operated by TG because I figured that since it was an award booking the TG flight number would have been what came up. But, I didn't really care. About 6 hours later (my OP was made in the inerim) I got a revised confirmation due to a time change on a different flight in the itinerary which said:
OZ7423
2:00 a.m.
Mon., Apr. 15, 2013
Bangkok, Thailand (BKK)
9:15 a.m.
Mon., Apr. 15, 2013
Seoul, Republic of South Korea (ICN - Incheon)
Boeing 767-300
Fare Class:
Business (I)
Meals: None
Flight Time:
5 hr 15 mn
Flight OZ 7423 is operated by Asiana Airlines.
UA website now also shows it being operated by Asiana. I wonder what happened... Operator screw up or computer glitch?
