Agree very much on this one and if you ever find yourself somewhere east and a little south of Hawes in Yorkshire keep a look out for Jervaulx Abbey. It's one of the few abbey ruins that are in private hands. You park at the small cafe/garden shop that is owned by the people who own the abbey grounds and walk a bit to get to the abbey entrance. They have an honor box if you'd care to contribute to the upkeep; not that there IS much upkeep. One of the most peaceful places on earth.
