Thumbs down Flying from DOH, what is the point of mobile boarding pass?

Nice to know that QR offers the possibility to have a mobile boarding pass sent to your phone. No need to print and no need to go to the airport to select one's seat.

However, what is the point if at the airport I still have to get a paper boarding pass? Immigration doesn't accept the mobile BP and according to the QR lady the people at the gate as well.

When I asked her what this bar code on my phone with the label "boarding pass" was then she said "it is a boarding pass but to go through passport control you need a boarding pass". At least she cannot be blamed for not trying to be surreal.
