In your case, I'd vote for the left. While I doubt you'll be able to catch a glimpse of SF on approach, you might be able to snap some decent shots of Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City, etc. On the right side, you'd be looking at some rather unimpressive East Bay cities from a distance.
