Just keep your eye on the booking. Quite often one seat comes up for POUG and MFU in the 24 hours before the flight, even if none has previously been available.

I've had a similar situation to you in the past where I've been offered the upgrade, when I go for it, it's gone and it reappears 24-48 hours before the flight.

Just keep your eyes open.
