Hi! This is my first post here, so I'm sorry if I sound really noob.

I've trawled through other posts to see if another could answer my question, but I couldn't find anything that did. I'm currently trying to use my Asia mile points to redeem a return economy flight between Sydney and Tokyo (NRT) in September 2013. I've received a reply for an Asia Miles representative who has told me that the Airport, security taxes and fuel surcharge for this flight with JAL will be approximately $5,700HKD. This is approximately $700 AUD, and seems to be quite excessive, but I wasn't sure whether this was the average costs? Could someone please confirm whether these costs seem reasonable? And whether there is a cheaper option, such as opting to use Qantas instead?
