That being said, this morning I received a call from a major market research organization asking me to participate in a 4-5 hour focus group (at a hotel where they will serve dinner) concerning lifetime status on airlines...offering the largest compensation I have ever been offered for a focus group ($1400) Specifically, the screener asked if I possessed lifetime status on UA, AA, DL or US (yes to two)...if I was concerned with the future of FF programs and promised "lifetime status" (yes!)...if I was aware of the AA/US and UA/CO mergers (yes!)...and finally if I was aware of any current litigation between FFs and their airlines concerning promised benefits (yes!)
Mrs. 1KPath (a law school professor and dean) thinks that this may have been organized by one of the law firms involved in the UA MM class action case to test the FF "waters" before they proceed...most likely UA's law firm...or, it may have been initiated by one of UA's competitors (AA or DL) to see what kind of reaction there would be if they "changed or diminished" lifetime benefits!
All I can say, it will be interesting!
You should play with their heads and say things that side with the judge on the suit. So if they say, "if an airline were to downgrade the lifetime promises of ....etc." you should say, "well is it legal? Isn't it separate from the terms & conditions of the airline's mileage loyalty program?" Things like that to mess around with their heads
I have to believe this is either the law firm or AA - and they will choose those like yrself who will not lose from this since the changes effect the 1 & 2 MM.
I don't want you to say any more information about yrself, and if you want, delete your location in yr other posts if you wish. If you are a MM on AA then it's a good chance it's AA although 80% of my office are 2 & 3 MM with AA and no one was asked. I was the stupid one telling my colleagues who got to MM on AA fairly quickly (most in 5 years) my lifetime benefits would be worth more than theirs under the PMUA MM program. Anyways.
Have fun and thanks for sharing. And of course I jest with you. Please share your honest thoughts with this ICUs group
