I've seen this once and it almost felt like I was eating on a International Economy flight (so it didn't calculate until after service was done). Fortunately I was sitting in row 2 so it didn't matter to me much.

While I understand the importance of prioritizing for top-tier customers if I was someone who paid full fare F for a flight and was just a GM I'd be slightly annoyed if I couldnt get what I wanted to eat. Now being on a deep-disount P fare, it isn't that big of a deal (to me at least) but I'm curious nonetheless. The only time I would care a lot would be on a breakfast flight (I'm sure this is shocking to some, but I tend to eat a hearty breakfast) so the getting stuck with the cereal doesn't cut it.
My seatmate on a recent flight (GM but F paying pax) was quite upset about this. I tried to explain to her but she only grudgingly accepted my explanation. Then again, she basically spat out the F meal saying that this was not eatable and was for her dogs (made me feel bad after I ate my meal).
