Oh, what a time we had. Agent said there was a Taurus available but, whoops, it was reserved. They had Lincoln Town Cars and Ford equivalent, which we didn't want, and there was precious else, so agent suggested a BMW 5 series sedan, saying it had lots of trunk space. Long story, but it didn't suit our needs, int erms of trunk space or ease of handling (kept knocking gear from drive or neutral to park at intersections), so we ended up trading it in for a Chrysler 300 available from Avis at the Burbank Airport (we were going to be in that area, anyway). Radio didn't work (did use the Avis phone line for technical assistance and the folks did try to help but finally said since the display was on but we weren't getting volume, the radio was out). When I called Avis later to ask about the total bill, the rep volunteered to discount money for days we didn't use the BMW (it would have cost more than the premijm car), and knocked off an extra $20 for the radio problem. Not ideal sitaution, but I was not unhappy all in all.
