So, I thought i'd compare the BA eshop with getting cashback via Topcashback and converting to Avios (via Tesco).

I took a cross-section of retailers from the BA eshop and found the same retailer on Topcashback. Where there was not a single rate on Topcashback, I chose the lowest one. Where there is higher rate for new rather than existing customers, I chose existing.

Some of the results are quite startling. This is based on a £100 spend at each retailer.



The standout is The Body Shop, though that is a special offer that expires in 5 days.

There were some retailers on BA that weren't on Topcashback, so I excluded those, but its pretty clear that, within the constraints of the £50 limit, you should go via Topcashback rather than the BA eshop.

It is also likely that the BA Avios amount is inflated in some cases, since many retailers pay out on the ex-VAT amount.
