It may be that the higher fare bucket was the only one which had 3 seats in open inventory at the time, so the booking engine took all three at the higher price, instead of working its way up the fare ladder one-by-one. But as you booked each ticket from the lower priced bucket one at a time instead, the inventory was replenished automagically after each sale. That's the only way I can work any logic into an explanation!
