Due to the fact that they have to dumb down their product for the general audience they make statements saying they both do and don't isolate clients on the network.
This would still be just as safe as using the airport wifi, if not more. If you're really doing anything sensitive you should be connected to a VPN type service anyways, which would mitigate that risk.
