If a connection could get them to Monterrey, that might be reasonable, but an unnecessary connecting flight with kids usually isn't worth it in my book. We'll so it sometimes if the price difference is great enough and the whole family (teens and tots) are with us, but I usually avoid it. I've been stranded too often with connections.
