There is a lot of time built into flights, so that I am usually deplaning 15+ minutes early based on arrival times. I dont really care whether the flight pushes on time or 5 minutes late, because, we invariably are still early to destination.

This is why being bumped at T-15 or locked out at T-10 rankles. If the GA's have a $$$ incentive to have the door closed at T-10 or whatever, then many times their $$$ incentive is at odds with good customer service. As is seen in these vignettes.

But, since on time departures are part of the profit and bonus metrics, i guess it's buyer beware.
