Sorry to say, but this experience is nothing different than what you might have had on any other carrier. I was flying DL once and they cancelled my flight, made us wait for 2 hours to get rebooked on another one to a nearby city, and then lost our baggage. I had sworn I would never fly them again, but realized any other airline would not have been different.

PS: I thought JEt actually did a decent job of routing you through EWR, especially since you were a voluntary bumpoff. Seats together are never guaranteed so that's a moot point, and the 6 hour delay, that too of a domestic US airline is again not Jet's fault. I realize the airline seems at fault in these situations, but I guarantee that it would have been no different with any other airline.
