You need to do your homework. Have it all planned out. It is really hard work to avoid scamcharges, but as you can see above, MG managed to do it, and it didnt even take us long to search. The phone agent will have no clue which airlines are not subject to scamcharges.
If you are willing to put in half an hour putting together a route online using the free sources for availability - it will save you hundreds in scamcharges.
Unfortunately to Europe, you are limited to UA,US,SK,SN,TK,LX - and LO ($200) - apart from that you are looking at $600+ on AC/LH/OS/TP in scamcharges in J.
