Of course, they achieved this primarily by cost cutting as their revenue was in ongoing decline (you can tell by seeing the faces of NH flight attendants when they are off duty; everyone is really pissed off at the concessions that have been made, but too classy to show it to customers). It's hard to say how sustainable they are at this point. Maybe the yen falling back into the 90s will help their results this year, but on the other hand the 787 grounding has to hurt a lot.
i come home to see her face filled with disgust everytime she throws on her uniform and gets ready to go to work. or comes home from a day of meetings that they didnt get paid for. i think some of them do show it to customers. many of the junior flight attendants dont stay past three years cause they get paid less than customer service agents and count on per diem (which only really gets good on international long haul). Many of them arent offered dorm rooms any more (only about 300 hundred a month) and have to live hours away. GF always mentions the company telling them to save money and possibly get ready for rooming on rooms when staying overseas. Meanwhile, they made a $15 million USD contribution to the LDP in this past election.. hhmmnn.
