Not True. Amex points post immediately after the bonus spend is met. You could apply tonight for the cards, they fedex the cards so you'll have them within a week if you get autoapproved, and you could have the points post the next day, if you put the minimum spend on each immediately. I recently got both Hilton Amex cards in an app-o-rama, and got 110k points, and neither has posted a statement yet.
