I recently came from Seoul to San Francisco, connecting to Washington National. Immigration/Customs was a nightmare and it's quite a trek from international arrivals to most of the domestic departures. I had almost resigned myself to not making the flight when I finally got to an empty gate area. It was well within the 15 minute mark. The gate agent said "I've been waiting for you." I got on and the doors closed.
Sometimes United surprises you in a good way !
+1, while not the norm it is great when it happens.
I'll pass along my story. My wife and I are flying Global F LAS-SFO-FRA with my inlaws also on SFO-FRA (they came from SNA). I scheduled 2.5 hours in SFO to allow time for the F lounge but a weather delay kept that from happening. By the time we got out of Vegas it was going to be very close to connect to the FRA flight. UA had already protected us on the 7pm FRA flight in F but my in-laws would have to wait for us either way in FRA. Luckly, a sup met us and the plane at SFO and escorted us to the FRA flight. We board right at scheduled departure as they "held" the doors for us. It was great of UA to do that and not get our vacation started off badly.
