You totally miss the big picture here. ORD-SFO has what 10 flights. One or more could have been canceled. There was a big storm in midwest recently, maybe they pulled down the seats to protect for that, there could have been equipment swaps on other flights that reduced capacity, this particular flight could have a very low no show rate since it connects to an international flight out of SFO, there could have been predicted weather on either end that folks will try to switch to your flight etc etc etc the list goes on.
