In my experience this needs to be done at the SYD transfer desk if the boarding pass isn't issued at the airport of origin.

Some time ago NZ removed the boarding pass printers from SYD/MEL lounges, they may or may not be back -- I don't know -- but this meant getting the BP from the transfer desk.
