I value MR points a 1:1 for airline miles. Why? Because I can redeem my MR points for a 7 night stay + X amount of miles through the vacation package option on marriott.com. Here's an example:

Say I want to book 7 nights at a category 7 hotel (which is 35k points per night). I can redeem 330,000 points and get those 7 nights PLUS 120,000 FF miles to United.

The way it works out is 210k points for the seven nights (35k x 6 plus 1 night free) and....120k MR points for 120k United miles.....total, 330,000.

That's just my perspective. If someone doesn't have enough points to redeem for those awards, they may have a different opinion on value.

I think 60k MR for your 30k airline points transfer is fair. Even without booking vacation packages, you can get 50k miles for 125k MR points.
