I've been on original-looking 1980s rolling stock on the Berlin-Amsterdam and the Hamburg-Prague route in the last couple of years.

Also, I've been on trains in Poland that looked exactly like 1980s (and earlier) German trains, so that's where some of the rolling stock seems to have gone. Again, everything looked original.
